Felipe Massa Wins 2008 Bahrain GP
Felipe Massa led Kimi Raikkonen home to score a Ferrari one-two and, hopefully, quieted some of the criticism that the Italian press has been heaping on him following his poor start to the season.
Following the red cars, pole-sitter Robert Kubica and teammate Nick Heidfeld continued BMW’s amazing start to the season and promoted them to first place in the Constructors’ championship. For the last few years they have been “the best of the rest” but this year BMW is shaping up to be simply one of the best.
McLaren had a weekend they will want to forget… Lewis Hamilton qualified third but made a poor start and then dropped to last place when he had to pit to replace a front wing after running into the back of Fernando Alonso’s Renault. He finally finished 13th, well out of the points. Heikki Kovalainen finished fifth to salvage a few points for the Woking team.
