Felipe Massa Wins 2007 Spanish GP

Despite the fervent hopes of a sellout crowd, Felipe Massa won today’s Spanish Grand Prix and local hero Fernando Alonso was relegated to third place. This was Massa’s second straight win and third pole in a row.

Unfortunately for both Alonso and Massa, most of today’s talk was about rookie sensation Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton finished second, again, his third in a row, and despite the fact that he hasn’t won a race, yet, he leads the Drivers’ World Championship tables. In fact he is the youngest driver ever to lead the World Championship.

For the record, Hamilton has also led every Grand Prix that he has entered and his worst ever finish was third. If he can keep this remarkable streak going it won’t be long before he adds a victory to his collection of podium finishes.
