David Coulthard Wins 2001 Austrian GP

David Coulthard scores his second win of the season after getting in front of the Ferrari pair with a very Ferrari-like late pit stop strategy. Michael Schumacher squeaks home in second when teammate Rubens Barrichello — following team-orders — slows and lets him through on the finishing straight.

Thanks to launch control four cars — including Mika Hakkinen’s McLaren and both Jordans — failed to start the race. Michael Schumacher also made a poor start from the pole but switched to manual in time to clear the grid.
